With the observation and analysis of adolescent patients treated in Chosun University Hospital, Psychiatry Department, the author obtained following results concerning ro paranoic syndrome dysmorphophobia and depression. With the analysis of 5 cases of adolescent pairanoic syndrome, its characteristics were summarized as below ; 1) There was a delusional belief that they were disgusted by the people around them because of their physical defect. 2) At last, there developed idea of rcference, that is, they were disgusted, avoidcd and disliked by the people around them. 3) Only in specific situation and interpersonal interaction, these delusions used to develop and systematize. 4) They managed to get along well with only these delusional experiences. 5) Comparing in adults, there was no personality disorganization in adolesent patients. The characteristic themes of dysmorphophobia shown in adolescent patients were bizarre experiences of delusional belief concerning to facial defect such as thick lip, asymmetric face, red nasal tip and ugly acne scar. There was chracteristic psychological aspects specific for adolescent depression. Their depression and despair were originated through identity diffusion with loss of ego ideal.
